July Favourites

So its almost the end of August and I’m only just writing a July favourites.. Maybe we can call this a summer favourites. Well.. we didn’t really have much of a summer here in Scotland and it has rained for about 2 weeks straight so I guess this is just a list of thing I’ve been loving these past few months!

Too faced Hangover primer £27

I think I’ve already included this in a blog post somewhere but its coming in again. I was thrilled to be able to try this as generally Too Faced don’t stock products in the UK and Debenhams only carry a very limited range (Seriously, where is our Sephora!?) I am currently using this with my Bare Minerals powder foundation (Still on the hunt for something  new since NARS became the face of all evil) so I can’t vouch on how well it works under liquid foundation but for me its pretty darn good! No patchiness, dryness or caking, just smooth flawless foundation and it even helps with shine! (Not to mention its amazing coconut smell) I have even taken to wearing this on no makeup days to give my skin a bit of TLC!

Benefit Roller Lash Mascara £17

I don’t want to admit this but I am very guilty of using mascara way past its expiry date so when I realised i’d been using my ‘they’re real’ tube for around a year I quickly became disgusted with myself and ran out to grab something new. With so many people raving about roller lash (and a £5 Debenhams gift voucher to hand) I decided to take the plunge and try it for myself and I love it! Most of the time I actually don’t wear mascara as I always have problems with it rubbing and smearing at the gym or just generally out and about as Scotland will always at some point in the day have some rain. However this has really stood up to the test! I was caught in a rainstorm having just come out of the gym one day and it didn’t budge or smear one bit! Although it was the only part of my makeup that actually stayed on..

Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow in ‘Taupe’ £19

So, for the longest time, actually.. my whole entire life, Ive had sparse barely there blonde brows and because of this I’ve been absolutely terrified of eyebrow products. Ive raved on here about the UD brow box before and I do still love that little kit however like all powders it was pretty much gone by the end of the day and as I now realise, it was way too light for my hair colour. So I decided to go all out and buy the holy grail dip brow. Don’t get me wrong, even though I love this product you do need a certain level of artistic ability to not come out with massive snail brows (Which is exactly what happened the first time I used this) It definitely requires patience, practice and a very thin eyebrow brush. Im currently using a spectrum one and even that is far too thick for the look I’m going for.

NYX lip lingerie in ‘Seduction’ £7

This is actually a product that I received today and I’ve been wearing it for around 8 hours and I’m in love! This colour in particular is so perfect for Autumn and I can’t wait to pair it with chunky jumpers and boots. For the price it is amazingly long lasting, comfortable and wearable however the chemical smell does put me off but that fades once it has dried down so I’ll definitely be purchasing more of these!

Collection lasting perfection concealer £4

This is £4 and works so much better than my old £23 NARS one. Do I really need to say more? Im in love.

Depop

Strange one here but Ive fallen in love with this app. For those of you who don’t have it (and you really should) its basically a marketplace where people can upload items of clothing to sell and you can sell yours too. I love Depop as I really grudge spending so much money on the same items in high street stores. I also just really love vintage clothes and I like when an item has a bit of wear in it, so this is just the perfect option for me. I also sell items on Depop as much as I buy and it makes me feel great because I’m not endorsing big brands charging crazy money for cheap clothing. (and making a little money on the side!)

Grey converse and Topshop Jamie jeans (£40 ish each)

Bit of a random one.. but Ive basically been living in two items for the best part of a month. As I mentioned before I love when items show a bit of wear so obviously faded grey converse are a must! I also found a gorgeous pair of faded black/grey Jamie jeans in a dark corner of Topshop on my last shopping trip and they complement my figure so much! Ive actually never seen this style before (Probably because they were hidden away) but they’re so figure hugging and have that heavy denim feel I was looking for, love them!

Forever 21 leggings £3

I was in a bit of a slump after the last Gymshark restock as I didn’t manage to get any of the highly coveted burgundy seamless leggings so I decided to give F21 a go and these leggings at only £3 a pair have quickly become a staple of my wardrobe. They have so many amazing colours and for that price how can you say no? Word of advice though these are not completely squat proof and there is a bit of see-through ness but for £3 do we really care?

Don’t mind my pants.. I did say they weren’t squat proof..

So there you have it, another favourites post, Id love to hear if you’ve been loving any of these products down below and don’t forget to subscribe! Speaking of subscribing I also have a new Youtube channel- laughterandlauren so go check it out if you want to see these posts but in video form.. kinda.. its more just vlogs.. but I think its pretty cool!
